In my latest episode of "In Conversation," I sit down with former Seattle Seahawk and Detroit Lion Ray Roberts to discuss his career, the challenges and obstacles to get to the NFL, his tough transition to life after football and his work with Special Olympics as the Director of Unified Champion Schools. And, of course I get his pick for the winner of Super Bowl 57.
In this episode of "In Conversation," I go in depth with St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Jack Flaherty and we discuss a number of topics, including his preparation for the 2023 MLB season, overcoming injuries, the support of his friends and family specifically his mother Eileen, his relationship with Yadier Molina, Adam Wainwright among others, memories of Roy Halladay, and also him giving back with his work for a Boys and Girls club in Los Angeles. Candid. To the point. Real. Authentic. Jeremiah 29:11. Enjoy.
I am joined in conversation with a remarkable woman, Iranian American director Tanaz Eshaghian on her film "As Far As They Can Run," which is an intimate portrait of three children with intellectual disabilities in rural Pakistan who have been deemed "useless" by their communities and manage to find some acceptance and a place in society through sports. The courage, determination and dedication to telling this story through their eyes is extraordinary. Tanaz captures this and then some. This is also about Special Olympics and what they do- around the world. The staff in Pakistan helping these children reach goals they never thought they could, but most importantly putting a smile on their faces. Sports and Special Olympics create memories.
